The famous RAF fighter is modelled here at 1/6th scale, spanning 82.5 inches. Designed by Sepp Uiberlacher. Featuring working scale flaps and a retractable tailwheel, this large scale warbird of the famous Hawker fighter was originally designed for 1.50 to 2.50 cu in glow engines, but as you can see from this video, John Ranson has successfully converted it to electric power. his model is powered by a Hacker A60 18L electric motor using 12S 5Ah TP lipos. He’s added the Benedini electronic engine sound system with the first Coffman starter simulation.
The plans to build this model yourself are available here: http://gb.trapletshop.com/hawker-tempest-5-2
Available to go with the detailed plan are a specially designed laser-cut wood-pack of parts, a moulded engine cowl and canopy, and an aluminium spinner.
